What this checks
Finds every application/ld+json block on the page and validates it: valid JSON, a schema.org @context, an @type, and the required fields for common types such as Organization and Article. It checks JSON-LD only.
It's one of the 35 checks in the free AI Visibility Checker, which scores a page on everything AI engines look at.
Structured Data Checker FAQs
What is structured data?
Structured data is machine-readable markup, usually JSON-LD, that tells search engines and AI crawlers what a page is about: an organization, an article, a product, an FAQ and so on.
Why does structured data matter for AI search?
AI engines use schema to understand entities and pull facts accurately. Valid, complete schema makes your pages easier to interpret and cite.
What counts as a validation error?
Invalid JSON, a missing @context or @type, or a missing required field for the schema type, for example an Article without a headline.
Does this check microdata or RDFa?
No. It checks JSON-LD blocks, which is the format Google recommends and the one most sites use.
